TAB RATED CMMI MATURITY LEVEL 3 BY SOFTWARE ENGINEERING INSTITUTE
14 Dec 2007 - TAB was today successfully rated to CMMI Maturity Level 3 by the Carnegie Mellon® Software Engineering Institute (SEI).
TAB’s CMMI appraisal exercise is part of a program organized by the Malaysian Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) known as QuEST (Quality Excellence for Software and Technology SMEs). This exercise is a continuance to TAB’s CMMI Level 2 Rating which was successfully obtained in September 2007. This success is a direct result of relentless efforts by the TAB team who gruelingly worked to ensure that all the requirements of the CMMi appraisal are met. The certificate of accomplishment was presented to TAB’s Chief Executive Officer, Encik Anuar Alias, by Mr. Ahmad Syahrir Mohd Shuib from MDeC. This historic event was witnessed by SEI Authorized Appraisers Ms. Thana Letchumi Thangavelu and Mr. Chris Chan Huan Chee, as well as many TAB employees. Speaking at the certificate presentation ceremony, Encik Anuar Alias said that this appraisal is one step towards TAB’s aspiration to be rated as an organization with world class software development processes. By adopting the CMMI standards, TAB’s processes are smoother and more efficient. Solutions are thus developed faster and are of more superior quality. Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) is a process improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes. It can be used to guide process improvement across a project, a division, or an entire organization. CMMI helps integrate traditionally separate organizational functions, set process improvement goals and priorities, provide guidance for quality processes, and provide a point of reference for appraising current processes. TAB looks forward to be rated CMMI Maturity Level 5 in 2008 onwards. |
